300 Seconds. · A Field Guide
Where this started
It was 11pm. My phone was right there. I'd had a good week. Three days clean, a workout done, a conversation with my brother I'd been putting off for months. And then, out of nowhere, the pull. Not a big dramatic moment. Just a quiet Tuesday night and a brain that started negotiating with me.
Just once. You've already done well this week. No one will know.
I'd heard that voice before. I knew exactly where it led. So instead of listening to it, I opened a document on my phone. It had five steps. It asked me to do one thing every sixty seconds. I felt ridiculous doing it. I did it anyway.
You are not weak for being here. You are paying attention.
